The number of transactions in the area is an indicator of an agent's recent experience, their pulse on the market, their relationships with other agents, their negotiation practice, etc. Most buyers/sellers don't
feel they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to represent themselves in the transaction. Why do so many buyers/sellers settle for an agent with little more experience than they themselves have? The real estate industry is unique in the sense that almost everyone has a friend or family member with a license to practice; however, the license to practice is a poor standard for choosing someone to represent you in possibly the biggest financial

- Beware of "Super Teams" - There is
a caveat to looking for the agent with the most reviews and the highest number of transactions. Some teams grow so large that they have 5, 10, 30, or even 45 agents working under one agent's name! So when you search online and see that "John Doe"
from RE/MAX has 732 reviews and 320 transactions in the past year, in reality, John Doe likely wasn't heavily involved in most of those transactions. When you sign up with that team, you are often assigned a sub-agent who may have experienced
only one of those transactions.
